I liked this outfit because it was nice, casual and cute for my daily errands, my tan cardigan and gladiator sandals toned down the busyness of my bright red and blue floral pattern. I rate this outfit a 7 because its not that creative or fashion forward but it is appropriate for what it was meant to be for so thats good. Is there another piece that could have added to this outfit? uuuum. not so much, maybe some louder earrings but the print is too out there for me to have added a necklace. next time i'll look for a red cardigan instead to play up some color!

New Stuff, Update, Fall must haves!
Let me start with my total apologies for not updating but as mymahci would say, meh.
So I'm going to begin with some items that I just bought and am totally excited to wear!
This floral dress is awesome!
and I only paid 12.95 so that's even better. I can use it not only for the coming Fall but for next Spring and Summer. During Fall I'll layer it with other pieces, wear leggings and of course pair it with some boots and maybe throw in a scarf. All depending on how cold it is.
I have never been brave to have a tie-die anything, (or thought it was cute enough) but when I saw this dress on the sales rack it was lust at first sight! casual and dress up-able (and I can show off my awesome legs)
Stripes are kind of last Fall and spots are this seasons pattern but I'm getting ahead of myself, I just couldn't pass it up, 11 bucks?! and the material was nice and heavy. Stripes always seem to me as something that I would wear in the Hamptons while I'm on vacation.
I also bought two new scarfs, (scarves?)
one is a burnt knit yellow that can be layered and layered, awesome.
the second is a caramel colored scarf that at the ends has all these little strings hang'n kind of like the 20's dresses? cute.
1. Jewel Tones (Saphire, Ruby Red, Burnt Yellow)
These eye catching colors are fun to mix in with an other wise boring outfit. Give it a little OOMPH.
2. Spots. . .<3

Spots are a fun and sure way to be in style, especially because spots are on our shirts, pants, shoes and purses not to mention some accessories so using this trend will be a cinch for us.
3. Fetish
This trend is called Fetish because as I told you girls in an earlier post, the sheer is in. but now they're mixing it with ruffles, leather, lace and silk. I'll include a runway photo so you can see what I'm talk'n about.

4. Sixties
Sixties inspired is back, so break out your hair teasing products, pack on that mascara and dust out your flats to hitch a ride on this trend.

5. Fur
The Fur vest is a piece that I have yet to get, but I'm looking for the perfect one. There are so many variations to it that I don't always like the different take on it. Rachel Zoe's vest is the best one that I've seen and hope to get something similar.

6 & 7. and lastly, python is STILL in. (ugh, hopefully i'll warm up to it soon) also surprisingly are fedora's a staple piece from summer.

2. Do I wish I had a different piece that I feel would make this outfit better
3. Will I dress it differently next time
sooooo send me your questions, comments or suggestions.

UPDATES
I have been thinking that in order for me to put outfits of what I wear more consistently, I am going to start doing something called outfit of the day, where when I wear a cute outfit that is decent enough to put online I will take a picture and do so. What I will talk about in each post will be outlined here after....
1. On a scale of 1-10 how proud am I of this outfit2. Do I wish I had a different piece that I feel would make this outfit better
3. Will I dress it differently next time

summer must haves
So! I actually just went and did my homework today hee.
these are what I found to be the summer must haves so far,
1. a nice light weight scarf to wear with jeans and a t-shirt or a cute dress. Skulls are in because of Alexander Mcqueens fetish for them in London.

2.

Dr. Martens, especially the floral are in for summer. of course they cost something from 90-160 dollars but im sure they have some shoes that look similar for less
3. Jennifer Fisher jewelry (or inspired)

kind of like things that you find at forever 21 but real and not cheaply made ha.
4. Lace, Crochet, Sheer dresses or shirts
Now, this trend can't really be used by the younger crowd. If your brave you can wear the sheer dresses with a matching lingerie set ;)
BUT for the safer way to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe, the sheer shirt is good. Just make sure that the bra you wear that day is clean and fierce ha.
5. and ofcourse SPF moisterizers!

ladies, (and gentleman) we always want to protect our skin from the harmful rays of the sun. wrinkles aren't sexy! and the sooner you start a skin regimen the longer your skin will look younger. SO! that means SPF moisterizer, face primer, concealer, foundation, bronzer, and then setting powder in that order ha. make sure you wake up atleast ten minutes earlier but trust me gals, its important.
6. and lastly POLARIZED sunglasses!

most of you know that I work at Lenscrafters so I have accumalated a passion for eye health, since we are residents of california a state that is usually nice and shiny (not to mention all the holes in the ozone) we have to wear sunglasses just to be able to walk outside sometimes! not to mention that it is a cute accessory, but the real reason is to prevent cataracts that as one gets older slowly start to accumalate. what starts to happen is you get a white film over your pupil that slowly starts growing that eventually takes your vision. you can have it surgically removed but C'mon, wouldn't you rather save those thousands and buy a chanel??
more soon!
love you guys,
<3

EXTRA EXTRA!
so, I hate to say it but snake skin is in. ugh. I personally don't like snake skin, I think I would only wear the pattern on a head scarf or something. OR some bangles. i'd love to hear how you guys use it though and if it works for you. also i have some JUICY news! so, next spring the color to wear will be...are you ready? LEMON YELLOW! so, if you'd like to be ahead of the crown start slowly incorporating it into your wardrobe ;)

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!
So, this season there are three things that are in.
ONE- Maxi Dresses/Long skirts
I previously posted something on maxi dresses alone because I was so excited that I had found them for ten bucks lol. but long flowy skirts are in also. Think hippie, I like to pair the skirts with a cut off shirt that shows a little bit of belly with some gorgeous wedge or platform heels, Jessica Simpson has some reasonably priced ones. Retailers have them popping out in bold prints and solid colors as well. Don't forget to accessorize!
TWO- White from head to toe
White is such a great color, it is a sign of cleanliness and purity, and not to mention it looks dashing against a caramel tan! But this season we're not just seeing it in accessories like last spring, but also in a full wardrobe!
a beautiful white summer dress with white wedges/flats white purse and chunk bangle to dress it up. For a casual take on the trend a white V-neck with white jean shorts (one of my faves) with some white convers and white leather bracelets! easy eh? add some white shimmered eye shadow to your bottom lid and don't forget the inner corners for a nice eye popping enhancement.
THREE- Pairing patterns
Ok, so I admit that even I still am having trouble with this one, hey I'm still a rookie. But I think I get the Jist of it. So I'm sure the steps of this trend is to have two pieces with a print, one with a small patterned print and the second with a bigger more bold print, but they both have to have the same color scheme. let me see if i can get a picture...
pretty no? but as I said, you have a big bold pattern (stripes) paired with a smaller pattern (pants)
and also staying in the same color palette. I think you can do like black, white and red though or instead of red a nice navy blue. if you come up with something fab let me know so I can post it!

currently listening to: Dido - Thank you
So, have you guys been searching for your maxi dresses? the bolder the better cause then you don't have to accessorize as much (see previous post for importance). I haven't really worn anything worthy of alerting the media in the past days ha. but what I do have to say is that for days like today where it rained and then the sun chose to make an appearance, something that's easy to transition into either climate is a long sleeve button down shirt. self-explanatory lol. if you'd already thought of that, im sorry it took me a while haha.
next post is on whats in for spring!
