Watercolor Smiles

Hello!
today I decided to break out this H & M shirt that I recently bought. Love! I added a black velvet wrap around belt that had tassels for ends. I wore some simple nude flats because I wanted the attention on my watercolor top. muah!

Outfit For The Day: Ready When You Are Wind

I was felt like wearing a dress to work but was also cold so, I threw on my fall coat and awesome huge scarf that I recently purchased at H&M- my current heart throb (well one of many!) totally felt cute that day. I feel that as soon as you bring out that coat throw on a scarf and it's an instant boost to your outfit.  It's an easy chic, and we indubitably love those.

Outfit For The Day: Kiddie Party Ready

Loose Shirt Target, Shoes: Bakers
Wore this outfit for my little cousin's birthday party.  Again was feeling the bohemian look but this time I put my hair up because it was kind of sunny/windy (if that even makes sense) lol.

Today I wanted to share my experience that I had at the sample sale that I was lucky to be asked to work. Here's some background, Rachael&Zoe is a label that manufactures clothing that is bought by Forever21, Wet Seal, Papaya and others.  What a sample sale is: labels or designers have a physical piece of an article of clothing to show buyers when they come into they're show room.  The reason for this is because buyers like to see exactly what it is they are ordering, then if they like anything they proceed to oder thousands of a product.  When the season is done, the people at the show room are left with all these samples of clothing that at the end of the month they sell it  to the public at a discounted price.  And thats where I came in, I was the one handling transactions and such.  Above is a picture of the showroom.  I didn't take one too close to the clothes because I didn't want to get in trouble! it was lots of fun and they had A LOT of cute clothes. Here's the link to the california mart so you can stay updated every time they have sample sales so you too can take advantage! California Mart

as a p.s. I wanted to share this idea I got from Refinery29.com cute eh? here's the link to that as well!  Nail Do's

Outfit For The Day: Ready for the Swarm

Bolero:Target, Shirt: Forever21, Shoes: Bakers
I chose to wear this outfit to work the sample sale in down town L.A. because it was chic but comfortable. Everything was loose and allowed movement because I was going to be mostly on my feet and picking up after other people. I wish I would have worn more bracelets with this ensemble, it would have made it feel more bohemian. ciao bellas :)

Current Heart Throb...

Sole Society!

Meet Sole Society,
This is an online shoe service where after taking a style quiz, you become a member of a society that takes care of your shoe needs! They have their own stylist that suggest styles to you depending on the results of your style quiz.  Every month is a new bunch of shoes to choose from. The awesome thing is that all shoes are $49.95.  I chose Talitha as my first purchase and I love them, they are versatile, trendy but I will also be able to wear them for seasons to come. deff a good buy :)

Outfit For The Day; Interview Ready

This is the outfit that I wore for my first interview with bank of america in down town LA.  An olive green blazer with a tucked in white button down shirt and black bell bottomed slacks.  As my shoes I brought out my sole society shoes that I got online (I'm writing that post next) and used a belt to give myself some shape.  Not too shabby if I do say so myself.
1. I am pretty proud of this outfit, I integrated different textures and cuts but still made it work.
2. This outfit is complete, there is nothing that I think it needs.
3. Next time I might put my hair up, it got in the way of the jacket a bit :)

Outfit For The Day: Casual Friday Chic

As you all may know, I work in an environment where I have to dress in a certain appropriate way.  Sometimes I get tired of the dressy pants so I turn to freeing and feminine dresses!  (plus I get to show off my awesome legs hehe) What I did here is simply add a blazer over a striped cinched at the waist dress to add some layers. As my accessory I wore a short silver necklace that had different lengths in the chain, and at the end each had a turquoise bead at the end that added a hint of color. cute!  While I was at work I had tan strapped wedges that added length to me (lord knows I need it)

1. Pretty proud of this outfit, it enhanced one of my best features.
2. As far as if I wished there was another piece that could have made this outfit better I think not! I liked the simplicity of each piece and how when put together easily made an adorable outfit.
3. And lastly, if I will dress it differently? Of course! these are staple pieces that can be placed with many a different of things :)

ciao bellas.

Outfit For The Day : Accidental Hobo Chic?

Today I went to the beach with MyMahci<3 her younger brother and my younger sister.  Thinking that it would be nice and sunny, I chose to only wear the flower patterned dress that I recently showed you guys, sandles, adorable statement hot pink glitter earrings and my black rainbow flip flops. NOT GOOD.  We get there and its over cast and sort of windy with the sun trying to peek through the blanket of clouds.  SO long story short, alex had an overnight bag in his trunk (I had his car for the day) and I was so cold that I did this. . . boyfriend plaid shirt + flower patterned dress = emergency cuteness!
the mixture of feminine with a touch of masculine is what I find makes it work, the contrasting patterns seem to fit together. So, here are my ratings.
On a scale of 1-10 I think this outfit is a 6.  It could have been improved with my hair for one thing ha. and two I wish I had some flat black criss cross sandals.  Next time if I choose to do this look again (Alex wont miss his shirt. hee) I'll put on maybe a light tan dress and find some black thong sandals (they're somewhere in my closet)

Outfit For The Day

I liked this outfit because it was nice, casual and cute for my daily errands, my tan cardigan and gladiator sandals toned down the busyness of my bright red and blue floral pattern. I rate this outfit a 7 because its not that creative or fashion forward but it is appropriate for what it was meant to be for so thats good. Is there another piece that could have added to this outfit? uuuum. not so much, maybe some louder earrings but the print is too out there for me to have added a necklace. next time i'll look for a red cardigan instead to play up some color!

New Stuff, Update, Fall must haves!

Let me start with my total apologies for not updating but as mymahci would say, meh.
So I'm going to begin with some items that I just bought and am totally excited to wear!

 This floral dress is awesome!
and I only paid 12.95 so that's even better. I can use it not only for the coming Fall but for next Spring and Summer. During Fall I'll layer it with other pieces, wear leggings and of course pair it with some boots and maybe throw in a scarf. All depending on how cold it is.
I have never been brave to have a tie-die anything, (or thought it was cute enough) but when I saw this dress on the sales rack it was lust at first sight! casual and dress up-able (and I can show off my awesome legs)
Stripes are kind of last Fall and spots are this seasons pattern but I'm getting ahead of myself, I just couldn't pass it up, 11 bucks?! and the material was nice and heavy. Stripes always seem to me as something that I would wear in the Hamptons while I'm on vacation.

I also bought two new scarfs, (scarves?)
one is a burnt knit yellow that can be layered and layered, awesome.
the second is a caramel colored scarf that at the ends has all these little strings hang'n kind of like the 20's dresses? cute.

Fall Must Haves

1.  Jewel Tones (Saphire, Ruby Red, Burnt Yellow)

These eye catching colors are fun to mix in with an other wise boring outfit. Give it a little OOMPH.

2. Spots. . .<3

Spots are a fun and sure way to be in style, especially because spots are on our shirts, pants, shoes and purses not to mention some accessories so using this trend will be a cinch for us.

3. Fetish
This trend is called Fetish because as I told you girls in an earlier post, the sheer is in. but now they're mixing it with ruffles, leather, lace and silk. I'll include a runway photo so you can see what I'm talk'n about.

4. Sixties

Sixties inspired is back, so break out your hair teasing products, pack on that mascara and dust out your flats to hitch a ride on this trend.

5.  Fur

The Fur vest is a piece that I have yet to get, but I'm looking for the perfect one. There are so many variations to it that I don't always like the different take on it. Rachel Zoe's vest is the best one that I've seen and hope to get something similar.

6 & 7. and lastly, python is STILL in. (ugh, hopefully i'll warm up to it soon) also surprisingly are fedora's a staple piece from summer.

UPDATES

I have been thinking that in order for me to put outfits of what I wear more consistently, I am going to start doing something called outfit of the day, where when I wear a cute outfit that is decent enough to put online I will take a picture and do so. What I will talk about in each post will be outlined here after....
1. On a scale of 1-10 how proud am I of this outfit
2. Do I wish I had a different piece that I feel would make this outfit better
3. Will I dress it differently next time
sooooo send me your questions, comments or suggestions.

ciao bellas :)

summer must haves

So! I actually just went and did my homework today hee.

these are what I found to be the summer must haves so far,

1. a nice light weight scarf to wear with jeans and a t-shirt or a cute dress.  Skulls are in because of Alexander Mcqueens fetish for them in London.
custom hand painted skull scarf

2.
Womens Page Boot - Blue : Dr Martens Boots
Dr. Martens, especially the floral are in for summer. of course they cost something from 90-160 dollars but im sure they have some shoes that look similar for less

3. Jennifer Fisher jewelry (or inspired)

kind of like things that you find at forever 21 but real and not cheaply made ha.

4. Lace, Crochet, Sheer dresses or shirts
Now, this trend can't really be used by the younger crowd.  If your brave you can wear the sheer dresses with a matching lingerie set ;)
BUT for the safer way to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe, the sheer shirt is good.  Just make sure that the bra you wear that day is clean and fierce ha.

5. and ofcourse SPF moisterizers!

ladies, (and gentleman) we always want to protect our skin from the harmful rays of the sun.  wrinkles aren't sexy! and the sooner you start a skin regimen the longer your skin will look younger. SO! that means SPF moisterizer, face primer, concealer, foundation, bronzer, and then setting powder in that order ha.  make sure you wake up atleast ten minutes earlier but trust me gals, its important.

6. and lastly POLARIZED sunglasses!

most of you know that I work at Lenscrafters so I have accumalated a passion for eye health, since we are residents of california a state that is usually nice and shiny (not to mention all the holes in the ozone) we have to wear sunglasses just to be able to walk outside sometimes! not to mention that it is a cute accessory, but the real reason is to prevent cataracts that as one gets older slowly start to accumalate. what starts to happen is you get a white film over your pupil that slowly starts growing that eventually takes your vision. you can have it surgically removed but C'mon, wouldn't you rather save those thousands and buy a chanel??

more soon!

love you guys,
<3

Sorry!

So girls, I know i haven't been updating a lot! And I totally apologize hee. But just know that I am working on what's in for summer. Mk? Gimme like a week more because of course i work like a mother lol. Talk to you guys soon.

Ciao bellas ;)

EXTRA EXTRA!

so, I hate to say it but snake skin is in. ugh. I personally don't like snake skin, I think I would only wear the pattern on a head scarf or something. OR some bangles. i'd love to hear how you guys use it though and if it works for you.  also i have some JUICY news! so, next spring the color to wear will be...are you ready? LEMON YELLOW! so, if you'd like to be ahead of the crown start slowly incorporating it into your wardrobe ;)

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

So, this season there are three things that are in.

ONE- Maxi Dresses/Long skirts
I previously posted something on maxi dresses alone because I was so excited that I had found them for ten bucks lol. but long flowy skirts are in also.  Think hippie, I like to pair the skirts with a cut off shirt that shows a little bit of belly with some gorgeous wedge or platform heels, Jessica Simpson has some reasonably priced ones. Retailers have them popping out in bold prints and solid colors as well. Don't forget to accessorize!

TWO- White from head to toe
White is such a great color, it is a sign of cleanliness and purity, and not to mention it looks dashing against a caramel tan! But this season we're not just seeing it in accessories like last spring, but also in a full wardrobe!
a beautiful white summer dress with white wedges/flats white purse and chunk bangle to dress it up. For a casual take on the trend a white V-neck with white jean shorts (one of my faves) with some white convers and white leather bracelets! easy eh? add some white shimmered eye shadow to your bottom lid and don't forget the inner corners for a nice eye popping enhancement.

THREE- Pairing patterns
Ok, so I admit that even I still am having trouble with this one, hey I'm still a rookie.  But I think I get the Jist of it. So I'm sure the steps of this trend is to have two pieces with a print, one with a small patterned print and the second with a bigger more bold print, but they both have to have the same color scheme. let me see if i can get a picture...

pretty no? but as I said, you have a big bold pattern (stripes) paired with a smaller pattern (pants)
and also staying in the same color palette. I think you can do like black, white and red though or instead of red a nice navy blue. if you come up with something fab let me know so I can post it!

currently listening to: Dido - Thank you

So, have you guys been searching for your maxi dresses? the bolder the better cause then you don't have to accessorize as much (see previous post for importance). I haven't really worn anything worthy of alerting the media in the past days ha. but what I do have to say is that for days like today where it rained and then the sun chose to make an appearance, something that's easy to transition into either climate is a long sleeve button down shirt. self-explanatory lol. if you'd already thought of that, im sorry it took me a while haha.
next post is on whats in for spring!

Maxi Dresses

ARE TOTALLY IN!
it's ok if your short (marci, mellisa<3)
like me, all you do is have them tailored to your wittle height haha. so like i said in my most recent post, i bought this pale green maxi dress...i ended up going back to forever 21 and buying two more in yellow and olive green (both of these colors bring out any tan that you may have) *cough* marci. lol. so they can be paired with infinite things because they are so plain you can make them your own.  One thing that i love to do is give each color a look. my pale green was sort of chic/glamorous, this olive green one that im wearing today is sort of like bohemian so i let my hair down, didn't brush it so it would be in pieces and just put a simple necklace on with a fedora and my black rainbows and BAM
total cuteness. they can also be paired with some cute wedge heels, also saving you the ten bucks that you'll have to pay to have them hemmed and a whole bunch of bangles with a loose effortless braid!

on another note, i hope that you ladies (and gentlemen) will never hesitate to ask if you ever feel you need my help with your wardrobe!
you'll never know the awesomeness we can both come out with to have you dazzle the world

;)

clown nose

so apparently my sinuses decided to go on strike and cause a riot. buttfaces. so now I have this nasty case of dry/red skin right under my nose, you know that part that is all nice and soft? and then when you blow your nose you wipe it twice to make sure you didn't leave any green residue? well. it's bright red. lemme tell you, it is NOT an accessory in this season. ha imagine? any who. I wore a earth green shirt with a jean jacket to work and some black pants. no accessories because my shirt has this cool design where it has flowers made of zippers. that's something that I'm starting to look out for, shirts that can be worn with minimal accessories because every girl (and true gay guy) knows that her accessories are vital in a voluminous wardrobe but you don't want to over wear them cause then you start looking like a picture (bad) SO that's why you have some pieces that you can just put on and the piece itself will count as your statement piece. (meaning you dont have to add something else in order for your outfit to stand out) my new challenge though is to buy another pair of pants for work but also look for other black bottoms that are appropriate. I'm thinking some nice black shorts but paired with black non see through tights? im positive my boss won't mind since my customers sure won't ;)

such a lovely day

SO, since the weather outside is delightful, you should all totally be wearing some adorable flowery shorts or dresses. with some cute sandles!  I have a confession though. . .I don't know what this seasons color is because I've been lagging it with my elle re-subscription so that will soon come haha. ANYWHO I have work today so i'll be selling old people some glasses with the exception of some younger people. eh. does anyone need a fashion merchandiser that still happens to be going to school? no? no? any takers?

a little AWOL

sometimes I don't like reading certain books because it leaves me with a feeling of unfulfillment. in a matter of areas. maybe my fashion experience, my love life, or lack of money. after you read a book it leaves a little of itself behind. idk gotta start being careful what I read. anywho! sorry I have not been keep'n you updated. (mellisa) so today was a work day so there wasn't any brilliant outfit but I digress. I did look really cute with my braids pinned up in a sort of braided crown with an added flower head band for a springy touch. have to admit though didn't feel too hot with my damn sinuses. I was sneezing in all my patients faces today ha. on a side note though. I'm totally loving those flowy material shorts. (if your butt looks flat skip the thong, if that doesnt help then add a support system ;) meaning a butt garter ofcourse! ha)
Tata for now lovelies.

yes I am mad at you alex. leave me alone.

light at the end

isn't it funny when you think it's gonna be a boring just laid back day and then it ends with a BANG. well. I loved my bang :) makes me realize how we never know what the day has in store for us. and how boring it would be to know. on another note, I will not be talking about today's outfit because I am ashamed. (looked horrible) and on an even more unrelated note, I see people are reading my blog but not following, or leaving comments. LETS GET THE BALL ROLL'N!!
